GNR Health Alert Network

GNR Health Alert Network

GNR Public Health works closely with state, territorial, county, and city partners to plan for and distribute public health information relevant for our communities. Currently, alerts and pertinent health related information is shared through Emerging Pathogen Updates via an email listserv. This is how the health department sends essential public health information to agencies and organizations responsible for the health and well-being of the people living and working in Gwinnett, Newton, and Rockdale counties. To sign up to receive alerts through the email listserv, click on the link below.

GNR Public health will be transitioning to a local Health Alert Network. More info to come.

GNR Public Health’s local, regional, and state partners should sign up for local HAN notifications.

Our partners include organizations such as medical practitioners, administrators, and medical staff at school and child care programs, long-term care facilities, hospitals, law enforcement agencies, EMAs, and government offices located within our health district.

Community Health Assessment / Community Health Improvement Plans

Community Health Assessments (CHA) and Community Health Improvement Plans (CHIP) have been created for the three counties we serve.

The community-wide health assessment, which examines the county’s health status, is intended to help shape the collaborative efforts to improve the health of residents.

The community health improvement plan describes how the Health Department and a variety of community partners will work together to improve the health of the population through various projects and programs.

Access each county’s CHA and CHIP below:

What’s an epidemiologist?

Epidemiologists are public health workers who investigate patterns and causes of disease and injury. They seek to reduce the risk and occurrence of negative health outcomes through research, community education and health policy.
