General Health Screenings

HEALTH SCREENINGS MATTER

Health screenings are like safety checks for your body. They help us spot potential health risks and take steps to prevent them from causing more significant problems. Whether it’s identifying high blood pressure, diabetes, or even certain types of cancer, these screenings are key to keeping you safe and our community healthy and thriving

Who Can Benefit from Screenings?

The good news is that health screenings are for everyone. Experts from the US Preventative Health Task Force recommend specific screenings for different age groups. At GNR Public Health, we cover children with screenings for hearing, dental, vision, and scoliosis, while adults can access screenings for diabetes, hypertension, breast, and cervical cancer.

The components of a health screening can vary based on your age and gender. Rest assured, our highly trained professionals follow guidelines provided by the US Public Health Prevention Task Force to ensure you receive the right tests and care tailored to your needs.

We offer health screenings by appointment at all our Lawrenceville, Norcross, Newton, and Rockdale Health Clinics during regular business hours from 8am to 5pm. Hours are subject to change during state holidays. Additionally, you may find us at various community events such as health fairs and local businesses. If you’d like us to come to your event, simply reach out to us through the form linked below.

Community Health Assessment / Community Health Improvement Plans

Community Health Assessments (CHA) and Community Health Improvement Plans (CHIP) have been created for the three counties we serve.

The community-wide health assessment, which examines the county’s health status, is intended to help shape the collaborative efforts to improve the health of residents.

The community health improvement plan describes how the Health Department and a variety of community partners will work together to improve the health of the population through various projects and programs.

Access each county’s CHA and CHIP below:

What’s an epidemiologist?

Epidemiologists are public health workers who investigate patterns and causes of disease and injury. They seek to reduce the risk and occurrence of negative health outcomes through research, community education and health policy.
